Sound Statement
「サークル・オブ・フィフス──循環する音楽的設計」"Circle of Fifths — A Cyclical Musical Design"
「生命の循環と再生」というテーマのもとに設計された大阪ヘルスケアパビリオン。その内部をたどる順路は、生理的な循環構造を模したように緩やかにつながり、来場者はその中で未来の自分と向き合い、自身の身体や存在を見つめ直すプロセスへと導かれます。この動線を崩さず、音の機能をシーンごとに切り替えながらも、場の印象をひとつに束ねる──それこそが、私たちが目指した到達点です。
音楽理論には、調性の関係を円環で示す「五度圏（サークル・オブ・フィフス）」があります。隣り合うキーが自然に連なりながら円環を形成するこの構造に、生命や自然、都市に通底する“循環”の原理を見出し、音設計の骨格へと置き換えました。五度圏をベースにした配列によって、ゾーンをまたいでも音同士が溶け合い、場の隅々まで一体感が行き渡ります。
館内各エリアを結ぶ音の流れを整えるため、環境音楽・演出的音楽・UIサウンドを共通の基盤で統合し、移動や操作、滞在の間に音が途切れないよう計画。隣接エリアの響きも自然に調和し、複数の来場者が同時に操作しても各サウンドが呼応し合い、ひとつの音場が立ち上がる空間を実現しました。
五度圏が示すように、円環は始点と終点を持たない連続性そのものです。その構造を音に映しとり、“循環”という感覚をこの空間にそっと息づかせました。音は身体と空間、感覚と時間をスムーズに結び付ける媒介です。すべての要素が共存し、ひとつの流れとして響き合うこと。私たちが探究したのは、そんな音の在り方なのです。
The Osaka Healthcare Pavilion was created under the theme of "The Cycle and Regeneration of Life." Its interior pathway flows gently, echoing bodily circulation, guiding visitors through a process of self-reflection — inviting them to confront their future selves and rediscover their own bodies and existence. Our goal was to maintain this spatial continuity while seamlessly shifting the function of sound across different scenes, binding the impressions of each area into a unified whole.
In music theory, the circle of fifths arranges keys in a circular progression, each flowing naturally into the next. We recognized in this structure the same "cycle" that underlies life, nature, and cities, and adopted it as the backbone of our sonic design. By basing our key layout on this principle, sounds can blend organically across zones, creating a sense of cohesion that permeates every corner of the space.
To preserve an uninterrupted flow of sound, we integrated environmental music, musical underscore, and UI sounds on a shared foundation. This ensures that movement, interaction, and stillness never break the experience. Even when multiple visitors operate elements simultaneously, each sound responds harmoniously to the others, forming a single sonic environment.
As the circle of fifths suggests, a circle has no beginning or end — it is continuity itself. By mirroring this form in our sonic approach, we gently infused the pavilion with the sensation of "cycle." Sound becomes the medium that seamlessly links body and space, sensation and time. Our pursuit was a form of sound in which every element coexists, resonating as one uninterrupted flow.

Nonturn / Solo Works
Nonturn 名義では既存の作曲技法を放棄し、未知の音響領域を探索する実験的なアーティスト活動を続けている。都市環境の音を素材に、楽器を一切用いない独自の手法で映像的なサウンドスケープを構築。英国の実験音楽レーベル Audiobulb Records よりアルバムをリリースしている。2026年8月、3rdアルバム『Repeating Town』を発表。Under the name Nonturn, he abandons conventional compositional techniques to explore uncharted sonic territory. Using the sounds of the urban environment as his material, he builds cinematic soundscapes through an original method that uses no instruments at all, releasing albums on the UK experimental label Audiobulb Records. His third album, Repeating Town, was released in August 2026.

東京・高円寺を中心とした生活圏の音だけで作られた3rdアルバム。街の反復を、『Territory』と同じ96 BPMの文法で組み替える。全7曲。Third album, made entirely from the streets in and around Koenji, Tokyo — the city's repetitions reorganized through a 96 BPM grammar, like Territory. Seven tracks.

器楽を完全に排除し、都市のフィールドサンプリングのみで構成した1stアルバム。路地裏の壁や街の音から「小さな宇宙」を発見する試み。A debut album built entirely from urban field recordings, with instruments completely removed — an attempt to discover a "tiny universe" in back-alley walls and the sounds of the city.

世界60のライブラリから500以上のサウンドサンプルを集積し、「群衆の知恵」をコンセプトに構築した2ndアルバム。行動経済学の集合知実験から着想を得た作品。A second album built on the concept of the "wisdom of crowds," assembling over 500 sound samples from 60 libraries worldwide — inspired by collective-intelligence experiments in behavioral economics.

米田望（よねだのぞむ）Nozom Yoneda
1977年、石川県金沢市生まれ。東京を拠点に活動。
映像の音を専門とし、作曲・編曲・サウンドデザインを軸に、包括的な視点でサウンドの設計をする音楽家。広告、映画、アニメ、展示空間など、媒体を問わず「その映像に必要な音」を設計してきた。
NHK Eテレ『みたてるふぉーぜ』の音楽を手がけ、同番組はPrix Jeunesse 2024最優秀賞（全部門最高得点）をはじめ国内外で高く評価された。
空間音響も手がけており、近年はEXPO 2025 大阪ヘルスケアパビリオンの音楽を総合的に作曲・設計した。かたわら、楽器を用いず街の環境音のみで楽曲を構築する実験的プロジェクト「Nonturn」名義でも、英国の実験音楽レーベル Audiobulb Records からアルバムを発表し続けている。
Born in 1977 in Kanazawa, Ishikawa. Based in Tokyo.
A musician specializing in music for the moving image. Grounded in composition, arrangement and sound design, he designs sound with a comprehensive, big-picture perspective — shaping exactly the sound a given picture needs, across advertising, film, animation and exhibition spaces.
He composed the music for NHK E-Tele's "Mitateru Forze," which won the Grand Prix at Prix Jeunesse 2024 (top score across all categories) among other honors in Japan and abroad.
He also works in spatial audio: more recently he composed and designed the music for the Osaka Healthcare Pavilion at EXPO 2025 in its entirety. In parallel, under the name Nonturn, he builds music entirely from field-recorded city sounds — without instruments — releasing albums on the UK experimental label Audiobulb Records.
